Orville C. Flory

Mr. Flory died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community in Lawrence.

He was born June 12, 1909, in Pleasant Grove, the son of Irvin and Alverda Pence Flory. He attended school in Pleasant Grove. He later attended Lawrence Business College.

Mr. Flory was an electrician and worked for HVAC at Kansas University for more than 30 years. He also farmed in rural Douglas County. He was a member of Lawrence Masonic Lodge 6 for 42 years. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He married Leona K. Tuckel on Feb. 19, 1930, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Dale O., Lawrence; a daughter, Phyllis Reynolds, Lawrence; a sister, Lois Gish, Lawrence; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church youth programs, sent in care of the funeral home.
