Emaline Belle Stiteler

? Graveside services for Emaline Belle Stiteler, 85, Louisburg, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Farlington Cemetery.

Mrs. Stiteler died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kansas City.

She was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Crawford County, the daughter of Vera and Issiah Matson. She moved to Girard in 1963, Lawrence in 1978 and Louisburg in 1998.

Mrs. Stiteler and her husband owned a dairy farm in Farlington from the late 1940s until 1963. She owned Emmy’s Alterations and Custom Sewing from 1963 to 1994. She worked for the Girard school district cafeteria from 1968 to 1978. She was Farlington Best Yet Sewing Project leader from the mid-1950s to 1963. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Farlington, Girard Women’s American Legion Auxiliary and Farlington Quilting Bee.

She married James Dale Stiteler on Oct. 25, 1941. He died April 19, 1962.

A grandchild also died earlier.

Survivors include four daughters, Darlene Hightower, Katy, Texas, Donna Deck, Overland Park, Sandra Lowe, Louisburg, and Olene Tilley, Lawrence; a sister, Doris May, Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
