Dorene V. White
Services for Dorene V. White, 76, Leavenworth, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ninth Street Baptist Church in Lawrence. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
Mrs. White died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at a Leavenworth hospice.
She was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Mapleton, the daughter of David H. and Mattie L. Miller Vann. She lived in Leavenworth for 55 years.
Mrs. White worked for the Holiday Inn housekeeping department for 25 years. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Siloan No. 10, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Topeka and the NAACP.
She married Curtis White on Nov. 11, 1963, in Oklahoma. He died May 1, 2000.
A son, Michael Folsom, died in 1960.
Survivors include a son, Delmar White, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; two daughters, Linda Folsom and Della Folsom, both of Leavenworth; two sisters, Rist Bradley, Independence, Kan., and Debra Walker, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday before services at the church.
Bowser-Johnson Funeral Chapel in Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
