David E. ‘Jack’ Allen

? Services for David E. “Jack” Allen, 77, Topeka, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will follow in Onaga Cemetery, Onaga.

Mr. Allen died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at a Topeka hospital.

He was born April 8, 1927, in Horton, the son of David A. and Fern M. O’Dell Allen.

Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator before he retired.

He married Rose Marie Graf on April 23, 1951, in Holton. She died Aug. 4, 1997.

A son, Steven E., died July 4, 1977, and an infant grandson died in 1968.

Survivors include two sons, Michael D. and Theodore A., both of Topeka; three daughters, Ramona J. Bryant, Carbondale, Linda A. Finch and Rebecca J. Percival, both of Topeka; two brothers, Richard, Topeka, and Jerry, Stover, Mo.; five sisters, Vera Harrington, Emporia, Patricia Wells, Eudora, Joyce Davis, Billings, Mont., Mary Jo Huffstickler, Norfolk, Va., and Vickie Nichols, Lawrence; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and a rosary by Church of the Assumption will be recited at 7 p.m.
