Betty Jo Curtis

Tonganoxie ? A memorial for Betty Jo Curtis, 69, Wellington, Fla., will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 18 at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie. Private inurnment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor.

Mrs. Curtis died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at her home.

She was born May 20, 1935, in rural Basehor, the daughter of Joe and Olive Carney.

She married Russell E. Curtis Jr. in 1975. The couple lived in Lawrence from 1975 to 1980, during which time Mrs. Curtis was active in the Lawrence Head Start program.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; a brother, Orin Carney, Rustic, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Deborah Fritts, Ottawa, and Nancy Curtis, San Antonio; a stepson, Steven Curtis, Lawrence, and three stepgrandsons.
