Rich-Osgood

Darcie Rich and Chad Osgood, both of Lawrence, were married Oct. 9, 2004, at First Southern Baptist Church in Lawrence with Joe Stiles officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Doug and Barbara Rich, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Charles and Connie Osgood, and Patty and Gene Williams, all of Enid, Okla.

Grandparents of the couple are Hazel Rich, Butler, Mo., and the late Jack Rich; Merle and Audrey Nilhas, Fort Dodge; and Pat Osgood, Coffeyville, and the late George Osgood.

Maid of honor was Lindsey Rich. Best man was John West. Bridesmaids were Brianne Rich, Tina Morton and Sara Tongier. Flower girl was Amber Nilhas. Groomsmen were Barry Morse, Jeff Meseraull and Dustin Osgood.

Ushers were Adam Rich and Simon Rich. Candle lighters were Jeff Meseraull and Dustin Osgood. Vocalist was Steed Bell.

A reception was given in the fellowship hall. Hosts were Pam Nilhas, Brenda Rich, Merlene Nilhas and Diana Rich. Gift and guest attendants were Katie Watkins and Laura Watkins.

A family dinner was given after the reception at the Lawrence Visitor Center.

The bride plans to graduate in May 2005 with a master’s degree in speech and language pathology from Kansas University. The groom is a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He is employed by Digital Connect in Overland Park.

The couple went on a Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon. They reside in Lawrence.

Shirley-Hurla

Hillary Kirsten Shirley and Shane Anthony Hurla were married Aug. 12, 2004, at the Chapel of the Transfiguration in Teton National Park in Moose, Wyo.

The baptism of the couple’s daughter, Hailey Madison Hurla, was conducted just after the ceremony with the Rev. Kenneth Asel officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Eric Shirley, Victor, Idaho, and Erin Bates Shirley, Perry. The groom is the son of Roy and Vicky Hurla, Paxico.

About 20 friends and family members traveled from Kansas to attend the wedding. A small reception was given after the ceremony.

A barbecue was given Aug. 14 at the home of the bride’s father. A dinner and dance reception was given Aug. 28 in Paxico.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Huff House Bed and Breakfast in Jackson, Wyo. They reside in Topeka.
