Services for Leona Antoinette Rappard Pippert, 101, Lawrence, will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Pippert died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

She was born Dec. 24, 1902, in Worden, the daughter of Henry August and Matilda Beine Rappard. She attended Globe School, near Worden, and Lawrence Business College. She moved to Lawrence in 1924.

Mrs. Pippert was employed by First National Bank of Lawrence for 13 years and worked with her husband at Pippert’s Automotive Parts Co. until it was sold in 1978. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She taught and worked with children and youth in the church for nearly 50 years. She was a longtime member of Quivira Club since 1947.

She married Elmer Pippert on June 19, 1929, in Worden. He died in 1995.

Survivors include a son, Raymond Pippert, Huntertown, Ind.; a sister, Mae Burgert, Lawrence; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church.
