Clifford Ray Scrivner

Graveside services for Clifford Ray Scrivner, 91, rural Lawrence, will be at noon Monday at High Pointe Cemetery in Stoutland, Mo.

Mr. Scrivner died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at his home.

He was born June 24, 1913, in LaClede County, Mo., the son of William and Maggie Partlow Scrivner. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1929. He also attended University of Missouri.

Mr. Scrivner was a superintendent for Pillsbury Mills in Wichita and was later a manager for Farmers Co-op in Valley Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Valley Center.

He married Pauline Davis on April 16, 1933, in Stoutland, Mo. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Raymond, Plano, Texas; four daughters, Margaret Goldsmith, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Lois Hinds, Valley Center, Joyce Leonard, Kechi, Karen Kolts-Retter, Lawrence; a sister, Lena Franklin, Andover; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Bobbie Dean, and a granddaughter died earlier.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.

The family suggests memorials to Clifford Scrivner Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
