Dennis and Tracy Hill, Lecompton, announce the birth of their triplets, Gordon Emory Hill, Truman Abram Hill and Martin Louis Hill, born on June 15, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

Maternal grandparents are Danny and Pamela Turner, North Pole, Alaska. Paternal grandparents are Lillian and Frank Oswald, Nelson, Mo., and Ben Hill, Boonville, Mo. Great-grandparents are Rose Hill, Boonville, Mo.; and Clayton and Carol Inge, Spiro, Okla.

Derek and Rene Mull, Overland Park, announce the birth of a daughter, Brooke Riley Mull, born Oct. 24, 2004, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She has two sisters, Ariel, 13, and Bailey, 3.

Grandparents are Jim and Sheri Mull, Goodland, and Ray and Ruby Dalrymple, Eudora. Great-grandparents are Ken and Mary Mitchell, Lawrence, and Pearl Smith Dewey, Los Angeles.

Bob and Heidi Horner, Lawrence, announce the birth of a daughter, Halli Elisabeth Horner, born Nov. 6, 2004, at the Birth & Women's Center in Topeka. She has a brother, Dylan, 1.

Grandparents are David and Joye Huston, Winchester, and Ralph and Thelma Horner, Oklahoma City.

Roy Wedge, Central Junior High School seventh-grader, captured the Open Division championship trophy in a qualifying tournament on Nov. 6 at AmericInn in Atchison. He is now eligible to compete Feb. 12 in the National AmericInn Chess Championship in St. Paul, Minn.

Lucas Suchy, Wakarusa Valley School fourth-grader, also competed in the K-12 tournament.

Jenilee Morrison, Lawrence, recently was initiated into Alpha Lambda Delta, an honorary society at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. She is the daughter of David and Pamela Morrison.

Several Lawrence players earned medals during the Blue Valley High School Chess Tournament on Oct. 30. Thomas Reams, Southwest Junior High School seventh-grader, won the first-place individual trophy in the K-8 Division. Alan Shi, Quail Run fifth-grader, won the third place medal in the K-12 Division. Jessica Newman, South Junior High School seventh-grader, placed 12th in the K-8 Division.

In the K-5 Division, Cole Reams, Quail Run second-grader, finished ninth, and Robert Newman, Wakarusa Valley School second-grader, finished 31st.

Alpha A. Barry, Indianapolis, and Angela Simone McVay, Lawrence, announce the birth of their son DaVon Jamal McVay, born Oct. 14, 2004, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Maternal grandparents are Margaret Tillman-McVay and Theodore McVay, Lawrence.

Sarah Bracciano, Lawrence, has accepted membership in Golden Key International Honour Society and was individually honored during a recent ceremony at Kansas University. Golden Key International Honour Society provides academic recognition to college juniors and seniors in the top 15 percent of their class. Membership into the society is by invitation only to students in all fields of study.
