Kansas City, Mo. ? Avila College pulled away from a halftime tie to upend Haskell Indian Nations University, 54-49, in college women’s basketball Wednesday.

“Probably the difference was turnovers,” HINU coach Phil Homeratha said. “We’re fairly young, and we made some turnovers we wouldn’t normally make. It went right down to the end. Good game, bad score.”

Haskell (1-2) will travel Friday to Tulsa, Okla., for the Rhema Bible College Tournament, and will face Rhema on Friday and Dallas Christian on Saturday.
