Rowing competes at Head of Hooch

? Kansas University’s rowing squad competed this weekend at the Head of the Hooch.

The Jayhawks raced in the Championship Eight, Championship Four, Championship Double and Championship Single races at the two-day competition.

Kansas raced Saturday in the Championship Double race, taking second in a time of 21:46.4, fourth place in 22:31.2, and the final two KU boats tied for ninth in 22:44.2. In the Championship Eight race, KU took fourth in 17:57.1, then placed fourth in the Championship Four in 20:56.9.

Sunday, the Jayhawks raced 10 boats in the Championship Single race. Senior Erin Hennessey took the top spot for KU in sixth place in 22:50.6.

KU’s next event will be Saturday at home against Kansas State.
