Ottawa outlasts Haskell, 105-89

Elvis Wheeler scored 43 points to lead Ottawa to a 105-89 triple-overtime triumph over Haskell Indian Nations University in men’s college basketball Saturday night at Coffin Complex.

The teams were deadlocked at 69 at the end of regulation, at 79-all at the end of the first overtime and at 86 after the second OT period. Then the Braves buried the Indians, 19-3, in the third extra period.

Justin Pendelton and Brian Yellowbird-Stevens led HINU with 14 points apiece. Jamison King added 13 points and Marcus Oliviera 12. Oliviera led the Indians with 15 rebounds.

Haskell (0-3) will travel Wednesday to Avila.
