The Lawrence Mentor's Duplicate Bridge Club met Oct. 27. Nine pairs competed in a stratified game that followed a Howell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Donna Munson and Pat Lombardi claimed first place in A. Don Brennaman and Judy Bevan placed second. Marnie Argersinger and Jeff Nash were third. Betty Spalsbury and Bob Anderson took fourth in A and first in B and C. Alice Leitch and Frances Vogel were second in B. Mary Beth Treece and Harriett Olson finished second in C.

The Lawrence TGIF Duplicate Bridge Club met Oct. 29. Ten and a half tables competed in a stratified game that followed a Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the play.

Competing North-South, Kent McCullough and Clyde Romer claimed first place in A. Lynn Hui and Harry Shaffer took second. Shirlie Vaughn and Sally Taylor were third in A and first in B. Erna Holmes and Frances Vogel finished fourth in A. Betty Collier and Shirlie Reese were second in B. Bobbie McCorkle and Ginny Johnston were third in B and first in C. Judy Bevan and Bob Anderson took second in C.

Playing the East-West cards, Virginia Seaver and Chris Lane took first place in A. Dave Piro and Paul Heitzman were second. Linda Swain and Linda Randall claimed third in A and first in B and C. Mona Bell and Madelyn Jenks were fourth in A and second in B and C. Yvonne Hedges and Chuck Hedges were third in B. Clarice Broz and Bebe Huxtable were third in C.

Playing the North-South cards, Pat Radford and Betty Collier claimed first place in A. Terry Tolar and Harry Shaffer placed second. Shirlie Vaughn and Sally Taylor tied for third in A and first in B with Klee Zaricky and Chris Lane. Russ LaForce and Jean Otney were fifth in A and third in B. Judy Bevan and Lynn Hui were first in C. Madelyn Jenks and Phyllis Brownlee were second in C.

Competing East-West, John Hickey and Jim Kelley finished first in A. Freda Gilmore and Bruce McKeithan were second. Virginia Seaver and Julia Brooks placed third. Pete Petillo and Bob Hemenway took fourth. Chuck Hedges and Yvonne Hedges placed fifth in A and first in B. Vern Gregg and Steve Phelps tied for second in B with Cathy Blumenfeld and Mike Blumenfeld who also were first in C. Mona Bell and Carol Ball took second in C.

University Bridge Club announces the winners of its Oct. 30 game. Hosts were Leo and Mona Langlois, Alice Akin and Florence McNicoll.

Blue winners were Lois Liebert, first, John Golden, second; Jean Khatib, third; Jo Spotts, fourth; and Marian Davis, fifth.

Pink winners were Bette Lukens, first; Ailene Bocquin, second; Virginia Williams, third; Isabelle Schaake, fourth; and Jean Etherton, fifth.
