Veterans memorial to be dedicated

McLouth — American Legion Post 393 will dedicate a memorial to all veterans Saturday in the McLouth city park. The dedication starts at 2 p.m.

Funds for the memorial were raised by selling a building owned by the legion post and by selling commemorative bricks, most of which bear the names of area veterans. Some even bear the names of soldiers who fought in the Revolutionary War.

Others involved in the ceremony include the American Legion Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Jefferson County Historical Society and members of McLouth’s recreation committee.
