Tired of gray, drizzly conditions? Skies finally cleared out this morning, bringing back sunshine to the Lawrence area.

“You might have to pull out the sunglasses this morning and keep them out for the next few days,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

Overnight, Lawrence got some drizzle, which finally came to an end about 2:30 a.m., Schack said. The Lawrence Municipal Airport recorded about half an inch of rain Wednesday afternoon and overnight.

“There’s not a raindrop to be found for the next six days,” Schack said. “We’re keeping it dry through next Tuesday.”

Shortly before 8 a.m., the temperature had dipped to 39, but skies were already clearing.

The temperatures will climb to 54 by noon, with the high reaching 57 by late this afternoon.

“It will be a breezy afternoon, ” Schack said. Winds will be from the northwest, 10 to 20 mph, gusting to 30 mph, she said.

Tonight, the temperature will drop to 30 by early Friday morning, with a chance for some frost in outlying areas, she said. However, no freeze warning has been issued for the area.

Friday’s afternoon high will climb to 64, with southwest winds 10-15 mph, she said.

Saturday’s morning low will be 40, with the high reaching 70 Saturday afternoon.
