Ottawa Services for Edith Josephine Schnoke, 89, Ottawa, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.
Mrs. Schnoke died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at her home.
She was born Aug. 1, 1915, in Garnett, the daughter of Henry and Ella Hercules Citron. She graduated from Garnett High School and moved in 1940 to Ottawa.
Mrs. Schnoke was deputy register of deeds for Franklin County, retiring in 1984. She also worked as a cashier at Ogg's Market in Ottawa for many years.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and its Sarah Circle, O.K. Extension Homemakers Unit and T.O.P.S. She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi and was a charter member of Tot to Teen Club.
She married Eldon F. "Buss" Schnoke on Sept. 2, 1942, in Lawrence. He died Aug. 6, 1996.
A son, Robert Harley Schnoke, and a great-grandson also died earlier.
Survivors include a son, Frederick Eldon Schnoke, Wellsville; a daughter, Penny K. Olson, Olathe; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
The family suggests memorials to the church or St. Luke's Hospice, sent in care of the mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa 66067.
