What has happened to Bob Dole's World War II uniform?
The uniform, along with the wounded soldier's bloody military "dog tags" occupied an honored place in the magnificent Dole Institute of Politics, framed by two burned steel beams from the World Trade Center and the great stained glass window of the American flag.
It was the ideal arrangement; in one glance visitors could get the message and purpose of the unique building and its wonderful potential.
Moving the uniform was a mistake, and why it was taken away from such a strategic location is a mystery.
There have been too many mistakes associated with the Dole Institute, and, apparently, some at Kansas University are committed to continuing to mess with what once was a glorious plan that would bring distinction and excellence to the university.
