Joseph Dee Kirkwood

? Graveside services for Joseph Dee Kirkwood, 89, Meriden, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bloomfield Cemetery, north of Meriden.

Mr. Kirkwood died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at a Topeka hospice.

He was born April 29, 1915, in Elmont, the son of Ray Rice and Milicent Hilda Lawton Kirkwood. He was a 1935 graduate of Seaman High School, Topeka.

Mr. Kirkwood was a farmer and stockman and served as grain elevator manager and feed sales dealer for several companies. He lived in Meriden 52 years.

He married Beulah May Dillon on June 6, 1938, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Jody and Gary, both of Meriden; two daughters, Connie Payne, Meriden and Vickie Feuerborn, Ozawkie; two brothers, Dale and Bob, both of Topeka; three sisters, Frances Ferguson, Oklahoma City, and Nina Wolford and Doris Miles, both of Topeka; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett’s Meriden Funeral Chapel, where family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
