Vollertsen-Humbarger

Kris and Inga Humbarger

Inga Vollertsen, Ottendorf, Germany, and Kris Brian Humbarger, Elmhurst, Ill., were married March 22, 2004, at the Standesamtsbehrde in Eutin, Germany.

The bride is the daughter of Martin and Marion Vollertsen, Ottendorf, Germany. The groom is the son of Richard and Alane Humbarger, Lawrence.

The couple’s parents, the bride’s sister Anja Vollertsen, and their grandmothers Herta Boldt and Herta Vollertsen attended the ceremony.

A reception is scheduled for Sept. 17-19 in Lawrence. The couple plan to reaffirm their civil commitment in a religious ceremony next summer at St.-Laurentius-Kirche in Süsel, Germany.

The bride graduated in 1997 from Johann-Heinrich-VoÃ-Gymnasium in Eutin, Germany. She received a degree in hotel and restaurant management in 2001 from Gewerbeschule II, in Lübeck, Germany.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and Germanic languages and literatures in 2000 from Kansas University. He works for a German firm, J.R. Bechtle & Co., in Oak Brook, Ill., as a management consultant for European companies with U.S. subsidiaries.

The couple will reside in Elmhurst, Ill., after completion of the bride’s visa proceedings.

Olson-Mock

Darrin and Kirsten Mock

Kirsten Olson and Darrin Mock, both of Lawrence, were married April 17, 2004, at Lawrence Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Bump officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Lynn and Karen Olson, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Gary Mock, El Paso, Texas, and Fern Baker, Lawrence.

Matron of honor was Kara Perry, Lawrence. Best man was Jeff Tornaden. Bridesmaids were Melissa Lytle, Kathleen Johnston, Holly Howe and Ashley Olson. Groomsmen were Kerry Romero and Brett Pattersen. Bell ringers were Emma Perry, Meghan Perry and Chloe Olson. Ushers were Carter Olson, Dylan Perry and Kurt Olson.

A reception was given at Steve’s Place after the ceremony.

The bride is a Lawrence High School graduate. She received a nursing degree from Park University. She is a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

The groom is an LHS graduate. He is a route sales team leader at Classic Eagle Distributing.

The couple reside in Eudora.

Heck-Towsen

Jimmy and Katie Towsen

Katie Heck, Lawrence, and Jimmy Towsen, Houston, were married May 1, 2004, in Houston with the Rev. Lloyd Kittlaus officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kelvin Heck and Barb Heck, both of Lawrence. The groom is the son of Jim and Mary Towsen, Houston.

Maids of honor were Maggie Heck and Ginnie Heck. Best man was Timmy Towsen. Bridesmaids were Jenna Graham, Monica Libbey, Molly Hayes, Erin Quinlan and Lauren Wylie.

Groomsmen were Mike Cardenas, Clay Cockerham, Richard Duran, Edwin Rivera, Brian Synnott and Thomas Wolfenberger. Other attendants were Mitchell Kittlaus and Jenny Kittlaus. Flower girls were Lily Bay, Addie Bay and Jordan Pine. Ring bearer was Hayden Pine.

A reception was given at the Houstonian after the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of Lawrence High School and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas. She works at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston.

The groom is a graduate of Langham Creek High School, Houston, and Texas Christian University. He works for Towsen Builders Dry Wall in Houston.

The couple reside in Houston.
