The Meadowlark 4-H Club met May 11 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Taj Heckler, president, called the meeting to order. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite car. The club sang “Happy Birthday” to Hanna Bozack, a guest. The club discussed work schedules and banner ideas for the Douglas County Free Fair. It was announced that pre-entries for the fair are due June 30. The Bromelsick memorial service will be May 29. The club recognized Heckler, a graduating senior. Members participated in a 4-H quiz.

The next meeting will be June 8 at the Pendleton home. Members will make tray favors for Meals on Wheels at 6:30 p.m. before the meeting. Members enrolled in the plant science project will give the program. The Vestal family will be host.

  • Johanna Wakeman and Shon Price led the Kanwaka 4-H Club in reciting the flag salute during its May meeting. Martha Kesler and Mariah Dickson led the club in singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” Members answered roll call by naming what they would do on the first day of summer vacation. B.J. Simpson read the minutes of the last meeting. The Bromelsick memorial will be May 29. The club will have a farm tour and potluck dinner during the summer.

The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. June 1.
