Cincinnati ? The Colorado Rockies placed right-hander Scott Elarton on waivers Thursday for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release. He’s expected to clear waivers by Monday and become a free agent.

Elarton, 28, was 0-6 with a 9.80 ERA in eight starts for Colorado.
