Osbournes are scooped

Woodbridge, N.J. — The co-owner of a Woodbridge ice cream shop is serving up ice cream flavors honoring rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon.

Ed Dubroski Jr. — who owns the Country Cow Creamery along with his sister, Jenn — sent an e-mail in January to the Osbournes offering to design an ice cream flavor in Sharon Osbourne’s honor.

The Osbournes accepted the offer and asked for a flavor for Ozzy, too, Dubroski said recently. The result: Ozzy’s Carnivorous Carrot Cake and Death by Sharon.

Ozzy’s Carnivorous Carrot Cake is a cinnamon spice ice cream with carrot cake soaked in hazelnut liqueur. Death by Sharon is a deep dark chocolate ice cream with dark chocolate fudge and bits of chocolate brownie soaked in Godiva liqueur.

Breath-defying stunt

Hershey, Pa. — Jessica Simpson will star in commercials marketing Hershey’s new breath mints.

The commercials featuring the 23-year-old singer and her sister Ashlee are scheduled to begin airing nationally next week.

In the spots, the two debate whether the Ice Breakers Liquid Ice breath mint is liquid or ice, a play off Simpson’s unintentional humor when she confused the tuna she was eating for chicken on her MTV show, “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica,” with husband Nick Lachey.

Hershey Foods recently tapped Latin pop star Thalia for a Hispanic market promotional campaign.

Mexico City — Pierce Brosnan celebrated his 51st birthday in Mexico City, raising a glass of tequila and cutting a cake with journalists covering his latest film, “The Matador.”

Brosnan, who has portrayed superspy James Bond in films, was serenaded with “Las Mananitas,” the traditional Mexican birthday song, on Sunday in the upscale Mexico City neighborhood Coyoacan.

He said his cake was especially delicious because it was the first he had ever received from reporters.

Trump towers in suburbs

White Plains, N.Y. — Donald Trump, real estate mogul and recent TV star, has jumped into the building boom in White Plains, 25 miles north of Manhattan. He’s agreed to market, manage and — surprise! — lend his name to a 35-story luxury condominium tower.

The building will now be known as the Trump Tower at City Center, not to be confused with the Trump Tower in Manhattan. Trump will be a partner with Louis Cappelli, who developed the $325 million City Center project in downtown White Plains.

The project includes rental as well as condominium housing, stores such as Target and Circuit City, restaurants, a 15-screen movie theater and the White Plains Performing Arts Center.

The Trump building will have 212 luxury condominiums and is expected to be finished next year.
