Dorothy Kinney Callahan

NAPLES, FLA. ? Private services for Dorothy Kinney Callahan, 93, Naples, were at St. William Catholic Church in Naples. Burial was scheduled for Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lawrence, Kan.

Mrs. Callahan died Monday, April 26, 2004, in Naples.

She was born March 18, 1911, in Missoula, Mont., the daughter of Edward D. and Sophie Zimmer Kinney. She graduated from Kansas University in 1933. She moved to the Boston area in 1935 and then to Cleveland in 1940. She returned to Lawrence in 1957.

Mrs. Callahan worked at KU until she retired in 1979, when she moved to Naples. She was a longtime employee of R & R Robinsons in Naples.

She married James M. Callahan in 1935. He died in 1957.

A daughter, Nancy Zimmerman, died in 1988.

Survivors include two daughters, Jayne Brooks, Gates Mills, Ohio, and Joan Blasdel, Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, James Callahan, Paris, and Edward Callahan, Lawrence; three sisters, Rosemary Larrabee, Liberal, Kan., and Helen Lutes and Alice Rowlands, both of Naples.
