Fishing report

CLINTON LAKE (updated 5-5) — Water 62 degrees and .6 feet above normal pool. Channel catfish fair on liver. Crappie good. Fish are on the bank. Minnows best bet, but jigs in green and red or green and white are producing. White bass good. Most being caught on rocky points and the dame on tube jigs.

PERRY LAKE (updated 4-23) — Water 60 degrees and .4 feet below normal pool. White bass fair on rip-rap with twisters or jigs. Channel catfish fair on cut bait or shad sides in shallows, and worms where water is running in. Sauger fair. White crappie good on tube jibs in brush at 8-12 feet. Fish are starting to move shallower. Sauger fair. Spawn is over.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (updated 5-5) — Water 66 degrees and clear. Bluegill good near shore and biting readily on nightcrawlers and small jigs. Crappie good at the upper end of lake, fair elsewhere. Males being taken along banks in the creeks with minnows and jigs or curl tails. Carp good on nightcrawlers and fermented whole kernel corn. Channel catfish fair on poultry liver and nightcrawlers.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (updated 5-5) — Water clear. Aeration system and feeders running. Crappie good on jigs and minnows lakewide along shore. Largemouth bass fair using plastic worms and crankbaits.

LONE STAR LAKE (updated 5-5) — Water very clear. Largemouth bass fair using slow-working crankbaits. Some being taken on plastics. Crappie good on minnows and jigs lakewide along shore.
