The Lone Star 4-H Club met April 12 at the Lone Star Church. Members answered roll call by telling what they do on a rainy day. Community leaders reminded members that the last day to add or drop a project is today. The deadline for Douglas County Free Fair entries is June 30. The Douglas County Spring Swine Show begins at 4 p.m. May 8. The sheep weigh-in will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. May 8 and the swine weigh-in will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 8. The club voted to purchase two banners. The club had a spring party April 18. Libby Queen gave a current event about gas prices. John Berg and Chris Berg gave a talk about spaying and neutering pets. Michael Penny gave a talk about photography. The next meeting will be May 10.

The Clinton Eagles 4-H Club met April 5 at Wakarusa Valley School. The meeting was called to order by Donald Baldwin, president. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite animals. Morgan Manger and Delaney Dieker led the club in singing. Kahlyn Heine provided a treasurer’s report.

The leader’s report, which was given by Lanaea Heine, included reminders about county camp, livestock weigh-in and show dates, drop and add deadline for projects, and VIP training and certification.

The club was reminded about the Swap Meet, which is this weekend.

Kylee Rhoades reminded members about the Clinton Lake Cleanup, which was April 25. It was a community service project for the club. The club discussed the club exchange with the Lone Star 4-H Club.

It was announced that Lindsay Fangman received a purple ribbon at Regional Club Days and Michelle Colgan’s beef record book was first runner-up in the state 4-H record book competition.

Lisa Gaston provided a report from the T-shirt committee. The design was shared with the club and sizes were collected from members. The club is giving T-shirts to members in recognition of their 4-H work.

Tiffany Robbins, Tricia Robbins and Jordan Brown became new members of the club.

The Baldwin, Garzillo and Coatney families provided treats. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the school.
