Big 12 honors KU’s Skoda

Kansas University sophomore tennis player Christine Skoda was named Big 12 Conference women’s player of the week Tuesday by the league office.

Skoda, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, won three singles matches last week, raising her spring record to 7-6. She also teamed with Brittany Brown for three doubles wins.

Jayhawks win invitational

Stevinson, Calif. — Kansas University’s men’s golf squad shot a three-round total of 858 to win the 14-team Colorado-Stevinson Ranch Invitational on Tuesday by three strokes over second-place Kansas State.

KU senior Tyler Hall tied for second place after a three-round total of 210, while freshman Gary Woodland was fourth after shooting a 211.

“We got the job done today,” KU coach Ross Randall said. “We’re pleased to get other win this season.”

KU travels April 9-10 to the Intercollegiate at MacGregor Downs in Cary, N.C.
