Jennine Marilee Schwall

A celebration of life for Jennine Marilee Schwall, 74, Lawrence, will be later.

Mrs. Schwall died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at her daughter’s home.

She was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Byron, Ill., the daughter of Laverne and Beulah Dentler Featherston. She attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she was selected beauty queen of the college in 1951 by Bob Hope. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.

Mrs. Schwall was a volunteer for the Girl Scouts and member of the Hospital Auxiliary in Omaha, Neb. She was a homemaker from 1956 to 1977. She has since worked as a retail consultant for specialty boutiques in Rockford, Ill., and worked for Weaver’s Department Store.

She married Harry H. Schwall on April 7, 1951, in Rockford, Ill. They later divorced.

Survivors include a son, Jeffrey S. Schwall, Winston-Salem, N.C.; a daughter, Lisa Rueschhoff, Lawrence; and six grandchildren.

Lawrence Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
