Gruber takes 24th, 26th at NCAA swim meet

College Station, Texas — Kansas University swimmer Amy Gruber placed 24th in the 100 butterfly and 26th in the 100 freestyle Saturday at the NCAA Championships at Texas A&M.

Gruber set a personal-best time of 1:01.09 in the butterfly and clocked 55.83 in the freestyle.

Gruber will compete today in the Aggie Invitational, giving her an opportunity to receive Olympic trial times in the 50 and 100 freestyle.

KU tennis falls to Colorado

Boulder, Colo. — Kansas University’s tennis squad lost, 5-2, to Colorado on Saturday. The Jayhawks fell to 3-9 overall and 2-2 in the Big 12 Conference.

Christine Skoda and Brittany Brown were the only KU doubles winners, and Skoda and Kristen Steinbock were KU’s singles winners.

The Jayhawks will travel to Honolulu for matches Tuesday against Boise State and Wednesday against Hawaii.
