Doris Jean Snow

Mrs. Snow died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 7, 1928, in Muncie, the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Kohn) Iles. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School and attended Kansas University. She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence.

Mrs. Snow was a member of First Christian Church. She worked at Rusty’s Bakery & Deli and was a manager at Alvin’s Deli for 54 years.

She married Eugene Snow on Oct. 26, 1947, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Karen Swalwell, Overland Park, and Donis Sawyer, Lawrence; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church or the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
