4-H news

The Meadowlark 4-H Club met March 9 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Taj Heckler presided during the meeting. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite brand of toothpaste. Members were reminded of their shifts for the Lawn and Garden Show. The club discussed Rock Springs 4-H Camp and decided to pay $50 for each 4-H member who attends camp. The club banner was discussed. Will Pendleton gave a talk about rocketry. Jon Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Joe Smith and Hannah Smith were introduced as guests.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 13 at the fairgrounds. Members will make tray favors for Meals on Wheels at 6:30 p.m. The Magerl family will be hosts.

  • Shon Price and Jennifer McCandless led the flag salute and the 4-H pledge during the March meeting of the Kanwaka 4-H Club.

Members answered roll call by naming something that is green. Douglas County 4-H ambassadors gave a presentation. Jason McCandless read the minutes of the previous meeting. Members signed up to work at the March 13 lawn and garden show. Members received ribbons from competing in County Club Days. Joanna Wakeman gave a presentation about the horticulture judging team. The next meeting will be April 6.
