KU’s Bookman wins Indoor 200

? Kansas University senior Leo Bookman defended his title in the 200-meter run Friday at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Bookman won in 20.42 seconds and earned his third Indoor All-America honor. Bookman won last year in 20.53 seconds. His time ranks as the fastest in the world this year.

“This championship means more to me than any other,” Bookman said. “It feels good to know that I have the fastest time in the world because it shows that all of my hard work paid off. It turned out great for me, and now I can focus on my ultimate goal of making the 2004 Olympic team.”
