Sixers’ Robinson to have elbow surgery
Philadelphia ? Philadelphia 76ers forward Glenn Robinson will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair bone chips in his right elbow.
No timetable has been set for his return, but Robinson was optimistic he would be back in time for the postseason if the 76ers made the playoffs.
Robinson, the 76ers’ second-leading scorer, has missed five of the last seven games because of the injury. He consulted an orthopedic specialist in Birmingham, Ala., Tuesday.
“It’s been bothering me for a while and every time it flares up it’s gets worse and worse,” Robinson said, adding that he made the decision after talking with his agent, Sixers president Billy King and interim coach Chris Ford.
