Katharine W. Smith

? Services for Katharine W. Smith, 94, Nashville, will be at 4 p.m. today at Donelson Heights United Methodist Church in Nashville. She was cremated.

Mrs. Smith died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at her home.

She was born May 20, 1909, in Lawrence, Kan., the daughter of Edmond S. and Katharine Anna (Rinehardt) Weatherby.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and member of Donelson Heights United Methodist Church. She had been a teacher at Haskell Indian Institute, now Haskell Indian Nations University.

She married Harold James Smith in Nashville. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Betty L. Smith, Sandra M. Jones and Katharine Joan Hellegaard, all of Nashville, and Virginia Conover, Northville, N.Y.; a son, the Rev. Harold James Smith Jr., Williamsport; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Spring Hill Funeral Home in Madison is in charge of arrangements.
