Online option available for KU football tickets

Kansas University’s athletics ticket office is unveiling a new online ticketing system, available 24 hours a day at www.kuathletics.com.

Customers who go online to renew their football season tickets will be eligible to win two season tickets, one season parking pass or one of 10 footballs autographed by KU coach Mark Mangino.

Single-game tickets for home KU football games will available online in July, while online ticketing for other sports will available later this summer.

Men’s golf fourth in Louisiana Classics

Lafayette, La. — Kansas University junior Andrew Price is in first place, helping the men’s golf team to fourth place after two rounds of the Louisiana Classics Invitational.

Price leads all individuals after carding rounds of 72 and 68 for a two-round total of 140.

Kansas opened the two-day, 15-team tournament with a first round total of 291, then followed with a second-round score of 290 for a two-round total of 581 at the 7,083 yard, par-72 Oakbourne Country Club.

Kansas trails first-place SMU, which carded a two-round 574 total, by seven strokes. Texas Tech is in second after shooting a 579 total, while LSU is in third after a two-round total of 580.

The tournament concludes today.

KU lacrosse splits

Iowa City, Iowa — Kansas University edged Lindenwood and bowed to Wisconsin in a pair of women’s lacrosse games Saturday. The KU club team nipped Lindenwood, 5-4, in double overtime as Lindsey Johnson scored three goals, including the game-winner. Karen Schmelz and Jessica Wright scored the other goals. Kansas played a player short against Wisconsin after Johnson suffered a leg injury, and lost, 8-0.
