? Mass of Christian burial for Henry Joseph Delligatti, 87, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora.

Mr. Delligatti died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence.

He was born Nov. 5, 1916, in Connellsville, Pa., the son of Vincenzo and Maria Antoinette Predenty Delligatti.

Mr. Delligatti grew up in Connellsville and graduated from high school there.

While serving as staff sergeant in the 28th Division in World War II, Mr. Delligatti was given an appointment as second lieutenant in the Medical Administration Corps. In December 1944 he was captured in the Battle of the Bulge. He was not liberated until the end of the war. He was awarded the Purple Heart medal.

Mr. Delligatti worked for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant in De Soto and Allegheny Ballistics Laboratory in Cumberland, Md.

He and his wife also owned a business when they lived in New Jersey.

He married Mary Jane Hall in August 1949 in Pennsylvania. She died May 7, 2004.

Survivors include two sisters, Loretta Stitt, Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Philomina Buffo, Pittsburgh.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence, where a rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Monday.

The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
