The bride-to-be is the daughter of James McSwain, Lawrence, and Patricia Hampton, Lawrence. She is a Lawrence High School graduate. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Kansas University. She is a management information analyst for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Lawrence.

The future groom is the son of Gerald and Mary Hertach, Hutchinson. He is a Hutchinson High School graduate. He received a Bachelor of General Studies degree in history from KU. He is president of Salt City Mortgage LLC, Hutchinson.

The couple plan an Oct. 16 wedding at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.

Lerud-Mason

Brian and Chris Mason, Baldwin, and Michael and Jo Lerud, Woodbury, Minn., announce the engagement of their children, Caleb William Mason and Arika Joy Lerud.

The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Woodbury High School, Woodbury, Minn. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of North Dakota.

The future groom is a 2002 graduate of Baldwin High School. He attends Tabor College in Hillsboro.

The couple plan an Aug. 14 wedding in Grand Forks, N.D.

Smith-Hoover

Michael and Marcia Smith, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Elisabeth Smith, Lawrence, to Jason Stephen Hoover, Eudora, son of James and Carole Hoover, Eudora.

The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a Bachelor of General Studies degree in communication studies from Kansas University in 2004. She is a supervisor in retail sales for Sears.

The future groom is a 1992 graduate of Eudora High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Kansas State University in 1997. He is a loan officer for Kaw Valley Bank.

The couple plan a Nov. 6 wedding at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence.

Leach-Wondrack

Lawrence and Paula Leach, Olathe, announce the engagement of their daughter Julie Leach, Lawrence, to Jared Wondrack, Lawrence, son of Walter and Dorothy Wondrack, Lawrence.

The bride-to-be is an Olathe North High School graduate. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Kansas University. She is a patient care technician with the Mid-America Heart Institute of St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

The future groom is a Lawrence High School graduate. He received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in education from KU. He is a customer service associate with Dillons.

The couple plan a July 10 wedding at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
