To the editor:

This is in response to David Hann’s letter published June 14.

Shame on you, Mr. Hann. A president has died. I was in Los Angeles when the news was announced of President Reagan’s passing, and there was an amazing outpouring of grief, from BOTH political parties. We were not grieving his political ideas but rather his service to this great country and to the world.

President Reagan served this country as commander in chief for eight years, and his passing deserves every bit of pomp, circumstance, celebration and news coverage that it got. And more!

I personally believe that Mr. Clinton should have been impeached for both his “Whitewater” and “Monica” scandals. But when his death comes, I will still grieve the man’s passing.

I don’t know your age, Mr. Hann, but with this kind of bitter, judgmental cynicism in your heart, I can only hope that when your time comes, there is someone there to grieve for you. To celebrate your life, not just your misguided, skewed political rhetoric. A man’s life is measured by more than just his politics.

Men like Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton as presidents have kept this country free so that men like you can send insensitive, unfeeling, judgmental letters to the editor.
