Arlon E. Keplinger

? Graveside services for Arlon E. Keplinger, 86, Baldwin, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin.

Mr. Keplinger died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at his home.

He was born March 22, 1918, in Vassar, the son of Rutherford B. and Susan E. Glenn Keplinger. He grew up in the Baldwin area and attended Baldwin Grade School and Baldwin High School.

Mr. Keplinger enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces in November 1942 and served as an airplane mechanic with the 2500th Army Air Forces Base Unit at Randolph Field in Texas. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He attained the rank of corporal before he was discharged in December 1945.

He worked for the city of Baldwin in the power plant, where he became the lead power plant operator. He worked for the city for 52 years before he retired.

He married Beulah Leuf in 1936. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Lila Robinson and Kay Gorden, both of Baldwin; a son, Arlon “Bud,” Baldwin; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
