Wynema Mae Conklin

? Services for Wynema Mae Conklin, 79, Horton, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton. Burial will be in Partlow Cemetery in White Cloud.

Mrs. Conklin died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at her home on the Kickapoo Reservation west of Horton.

She was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Anadarko, Okla., the daughter of Elijah and Nina Frazier Reynolds. She was a former resident of Lawrence.

Mrs. Conklin was a homemaker and volunteered in the Lawrence and Kansas City areas. She was a member of the Delaware tribe in Oklahoma and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Lawrence.

She married Ted Conklin on Sept. 14, 1947, in Lawrence. He died in April 2001.

A son, Ted Conklin Jr., also died earlier.

Survivors include a son, John Conklin, Lawrence; four daughters, Cindy Kelly and Mary Knoxsah, both of the Kickapoo Reservation west of Horton, Nancy Schlichting, Reserve, and Jean Abdul-Karim, Detroit; two sisters, Verna Reynolds, Lawrence, and Vera Mousseau, Porcupine, S.D.; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
