Area fishing report

CLINTON LAKE (updated 6-2) — Water 72 degrees and 1.4 feet above normal pool. Channel catfish fair on minnows, nightcrawlers and liver. Many fish close to the bank with spawn coming in June. Crappie fair. Spawn winding down. Some fish being caught at 10-12 feet using minnows and jigs. Walleye poor drifting flats with jig and nightcrawler. White bass fair using small spinners and jigs off rocky areas.

PERRY LAKE (updated 6-1) — Water 68 degrees and 1.68 feet over normal pool. Channel catfish fair on cut bait or worms where creeks are running in. Fish are up tight to banks eating crappie eggs. Feeders working twice in morning and twice in evening. Sauger fair on rocky points on west side toward dam on crankbaits or twisters. White bass fair on rocky points on white, twisters or shad colored crankbaits. White crappie fair. Spawn is over. Fish will be off the bank with recent increase in lake level.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (updated 6-2) — Water 74 degrees and clear to 18 inches. Bluegill good near shore and biting readily on nightcrawlers and small jigs. Carp good using nightcrawlers, dough baits and fermented corn. Channel catfish good on nightcrawlers, poultry liver and dough baits. Crappie good, best in evenings and mornings with live minnows and jigs or curl tails.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (updated 6-2) — Water clear. Aeration system and feeders running. Bluegill-redear fair on worms under bobber. Channel catfish fair using large shiners, nightcrawlers and liver. Largemouth bass fair using crankbaits, white spinnerbaits, plastic baits and minnows.

LONE STAR LAKE (updated 6-2) — Channel catfish fair on nightcrawlers and liver. Largemouth bass fair on plastics, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Redear-bluegill fair using worms under bobber around weeds.
