Sun sink Mystics, 72-63

? Wendy Palmer had 21 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season, leading Connecticut to a 72-63 win over Washington on Friday night.

Lindsay Whalen added a career-high 13 points for the Sun (3-2), who won their third straight.

Taj McWilliams-Franklin finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, and Katie Douglas added 10 points for Connecticut.

Chamique Holdsclaw scored a game-high 25 points for the Mystics (2-4). Rookie Alana Beard, who started at point guard for the second straight game in place of the injured Tamicha Jackson, chipped in 13 points.

With four lead changes over the final 6:20, Palmer gave Connecticut the lead for good on a driving layup, and Whalen added a three-pointer at 4:57, which sealed the win for Connecticut.
