Davidson

A.D. and Dorothy Davidson, Lawrence, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday.

Alva Dewey Davidson and Dorothy Marie Keeble were married June 10, 1939, in Junction City. A.D. is a retired Army command sergeant major. He served from December 1937 to July 1961.

They moved to Lawrence in 1966. A.D. was employed as a state probation and parole officer until retirement in September 1975. Dorothy worked at KPL and Kansas University in the microbiology department and payroll department.

Their children are the late Gary Davidson and the late Twila Davidson. They have five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Bailey

Elmer and Dixie Bailey, Topeka, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Elmer Bailey and Dixie Baker were married May 28, 1954. Elmer worked for Butterkrust in Topeka for 37 years. Elmer and Dixie worked for Allied Signal in Lawrence until retirement in 1997.

Their children are Nancy and David McDaniel, Topeka, and Gary and Tracy Bailey, Perry. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The couple will celebrate with a trip to Colorado. Family and friends are urged to send cards.
