James C. Hattabaugh

Mr. Hattabaugh died Monday, July 26, 2004, at his home.

He was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Piney, Ark., the son of Otis Willard and Alma Lorene Poynter Hattabaugh.

Mr. Hattabaugh was the owner of Jim’s Tree Service for 52 years. He had been a Eudora resident since 1976.

He married Linda Colvin on April 2, 1972, in Oskaloosa. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Carrie Sue Vess-Sheley, Perry; a son, Rodney Barnes, Eudora; three brothers, Leon, Donnie and Kenny, all of Lawrence; seven sisters, Velma Dean Estes, Tonganoxie, Wanda Fay Shackelford, Linda Kay Hibner, Joyce Ann Anderson, Judy M. Holder and Connie Sue Stroda, all of Lawrence, and Kathy Lynn Stephens, Iola; and six grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the James C. Hattabaugh Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
