— Services for Ernestine Marie "Stinky" Tripkos, 76, De Soto, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at De Soto Methodist Church. Burial will be at De Soto Cemetery.

Mrs. Tripkos died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Olathe Community Hospital.

She was born Dec. 22, 1927, in Olathe, the daughter of Ernest and Emma Hirning. Mrs. Tripkos lived in De Soto all her life.

She was a clerk at the De Soto post office for 26 years and served as acting postmaster from 1976 to 1977.

Mrs. Tripkos was a lifetime member of the De Soto Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary Post No. 6654 and a member of De Soto Methodist Church.

She married Virgil Tripkos. They were married 50 years. He died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Tina Twidwell, De Soto; a son, Todd Tripkos, De Soto; three sisters, Julia Polfer, Lenexa, Emma Jean Taylor, Eudora, and Lou Davidson, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in De Soto.
