Washington — Rookie Alana Beard scored 23 points and made two free throws with 1:11 remaining to lead the Washington Mystics to a 65-61 victory Friday night over Minnesota, ending the Lynx's franchise-record six-game winning streak.
Beard, who made her first eight shots, finished 8-for-9 from the field and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line as the Mystics snapped a three-game losing streak.
Katie Smith, who led the Lynx with 19 points, left with 11:09 remaining in the game when she injured her right knee while scrambling with Beard for a loose ball. She did not return.
