Charles Henry Baker

? Services for Charles Henry Baker, 88, Topeka, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ozawkie United Methodist Church.

Mr. Baker died on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Deer Park Senior Group Home in Meriden.

He was born May 18, 1916, in Circleville, the son of Guy and Florence E. Michael Baker. He moved south of Ozawkie in 1921, and to Topeka in 1964.

He worked as a Forestry Technician II with the State and Extension Forestry Service at Kansas State University. He assisted in the construction of both Perry and Clinton State Parks. He was also a farmer and stockman in the Denison area for many years.

Mr. Baker was a member of Northland Christian Church in Topeka.

He married Betty Maxine Sharkey on May 21, 1938, in Oskaloosa. She died on Oct. 24, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, David, of Ozawkie, and Donald, of Topeka; one daughter, Rachel O’Sullivan, of Topeka; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Barnett’s Funeral Chapel in Meriden.
