Thursey Mae Atkins

Services for Thursey Mae Atkins, 93, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Mortuary in Greer, S.C. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Greer, S.C.

Mrs. Atkins died Friday, July 16, 2004, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born May 18, 1911, in Spartanburg County, S.C., the daughter of Willie and Ola Duncan McAbee.

Mrs. Atkins was a homemaker.

She married George D. Atkins in 1939 in Laurens, S.C. He died Feb. 18, 1996.

Survivors include a son, G. Douglas Atkins, Lawrence; and two grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Wood Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, which is handling Lawrence arrangements.
