William J. Fager

? Funeral Mass for William J. Fager, 37, Erie, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

Mr. Fager died Friday, July 9, 2004, from injuries suffered in an auto accident east of St. Paul.

He was born Feb. 3, 1967, in Parsons, the son of George A. and Judy A. VanLeeuwen Fager. He attended school in St. Paul, graduating from St. Paul High School in 1985. He attended Labette Community College in Parsons and Pittsburg State University before graduating from Kansas State University in 1990.

After graduation, he worked in Lawrence for five years until moving to Erie. He was employed at Farmer’s National Bank in Walnut, and he also farmed with his parents.

Mr. Fager was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He taught CCD classes and helped with children’s T-ball. He was a past board member of Farm Bureau and had been a member of Ducks Unlimited.

He married Cindy M. Cagle on June 2, 1990, in St. Paul. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Robert, of the home; three daughters, Lauren, Sereta and Catrina Fager, all of the home; his parents, Erie; two brothers, Jim, Lenexa, and Stacey, Wichita; and a sister, Emily Gronau, Girard.

A rosary, led by the Knights of Columbus, will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church, where afterwards the family will receive friends. Friends may call at the church after 11 a.m. Monday.

The family suggests memorials toward an educational fund for Mr. Fager’s children, sent in care of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main, Parsons 67357.
