LINCOLN, NEB. Services for Julie Ann McEwen, 42, Topeka, Kan., were Saturday at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Lincoln. Burial was at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Ms. McEwen died Sunday, July 4, 2004.
She was born Oct. 6, 1961, in Norfolk, Neb., the daughter of Randall and Faye McEwen. She was a graduate of Lincoln East High School. She was a member of Mu Phi Epsilon music fraternity at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she received a bachelor's degree in music education. She received a master's degree in music from Kansas State University.
Ms. McEwen was a nationally certified music teacher who taught elementary music in the Topeka public schools. She was a member of the Kansas Music Educators Assn., Wichita; Kansas Music Teachers Assn., Topeka; Kansas Education Assn., Topeka; Topeka Education Assn.; and Music Educators National Conference, Washington, D.C.
Survivors include a daughter, Brittany Ann Laughlin, Lawrence, Kan.; her parents, Lincoln; a sister, Kim Stemper, Lincoln; and a brother, Scott McEwen, Lincoln.
