Raiders fall, 6-3
BARTLESVILLE, OKLA. ? Lawrence’s Raiders plated two runs in the seventh inning and had the tying run at the plate with two outs, but ultimately fell to Springfield, Mo., 6-3, Saturday at the Fourth of July tournament.
The Raiders, 2-1 in the tourney and the second-place team in their pool, will play at in the semifinals today against a yet-to-be determined foe.
Ryan Engel had four singles in four at-bats, and Paul Metzler was 2-for-3 for the Raiders.
After Saturday’s game, Jake Hoover won the home-run-hitting contest, blasting seven. Raiders assistant coach Pat Holmes hit four in the coaches’ portion of the home-run contest, helping the Raiders win the player/coach competition with 11.
